Job Description

Job Purpose: To ensure that construction project is delivered within a predetermined time, cost and quality to the approval of the Client.

Accountabilities: The Project Manager Construction will be responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Manage day to day operations of project management by facilitating related work processes to ensure smooth functioning of the project.
  • Identify project risks to enable senior management to define risk strategies and develop the risk management plan..
  • Ensure that timelines and critical path scheduling are being followed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental procedures on site.
  • Oversee onsite construction observations and document progress in periodic reports.
  • Coordinate walkthrough inspections for administration of the handover to Client.
  • Assist in development of punch lists and oversee successful completion.
  • Assist in financial and estimation assessments to help certify Contractor payments.
  • Ensure all incidents, defects, product non-conformances and contractor or customer complaints are reported and documented accordingly.
  • Act as a point of contact for any questions and concerns.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Construction Manager.

Selection Criteria

Degrees & Education: Bachelor of Engineering

Qualifications & Certificates: Qualified Civil Engineer; PMI certification will be considered as an asset

Experience: 12 – 15 years.

Job Description

Accountabilities: The Project Manager Construction will be responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Analyze the project scope, Organize the work on the project and set forth the procedures to be employed in accomplishing the project.
  • Be the one point-of contact for all incoming and outgoing project information. Ensure proper distribution of project information to all project team members and sub-consultants.
  • Keep the Client, Director of Operations and the firm Accounting Department informed on the status of the project.
  • Develop and monitor the Client’s construction budget and schedule. Identify long lead items and proposed form of construction contract as easily as possible.
  • Attend project meetings, as necessary.
  • Establish documentation and administrative organization for the project.

Selection Criteria

Degrees & Education: Bachelor of Engineering.

Qualifications & Certificates: Qualified Civil Engineer, PMI certification will be considered as an asset.

Experience: 8 – 10 years.

  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Making judgments and solving problem.
  • Supervising construction.
  • Ensuring quality of workmanship.

  • Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs.
  • Preparing, negotiating and analyzing costs for tenders and contracts.
  • Advising on a range of legal and contractual issues.
